In rural communities such as ours, the scourge of Methamphetamine usage is increasingly present. All police officers, and sadly many teachers, also can relate stories of its impact on individuals, their families and our wider community.
Any initiative that works to save our young people from engaging with this highly addictive drug, is a good thing. As with most things in life, ‘prevention is better than a cure,’ and I commend all those people associated with this project for their efforts thus far. For if even only one person and their extended family are spared the horrors of addiction, it will have been worthwhile.
The concept of using gaming technology to connect with young people is an excellent one and I applaud those students, and the committee, who have pursued this idea.
